Reflection

This lesson we summarize what we have learnt about tropical monsoon forest and tropical rainforest by completing a table. I think this table will come very handy when there is a test. However, I still have to revise on why are the structures of the forest this way. For example, the tress found in tropical rainforest have buttress roots to increase the stability of the tree. It also acts as a storage for excess starch/ glucose.
We learnt more in detail on the reasons why the roots or structures behave in a particular way due to the mean monthly rainfall and temperature.

ALso.. if we're stuck in the forest and there is no supply of food, we can cut the buttress roots! :) haha : )

Reflection about 20 Jan

Today's lesson is the same as the previous, refreshing what we learnt last week. However, i learnt something new. Which is the position of the various forests - tropical rainforest, tropical monsoon forest, tropical coniferious forest and tropical deciduous forest positions on the Earth. And it's altitude from the Earth's equator.

Also, today's lesson is a little more interesting as there is some activities or questions for us to answer. Avoiding us from falling asleep : )

Hope next lesson can learn something new! : ) EXCITED! : )

Reflection about 11 Jan

I learnt about the type of natural vegetation around us. Such as forests, grasslands and deserts and their individual biome. Also, i learnt about the Tropical forest, Tropical Monsoon forest and Moonsoon forest. However, i only learnt about the climate, density, structure of the forest, diversity of plant species, leaves and flowers and fruits of the individual forest. I think this is a very useful knowledge and can come in handy as i go for survival camps in forest. ( I'm a girl guide hahahha : ) ) Also, i can now understand better about the forest in other countries. Knowing how to differentiate the different types of forest and adapt to it in the future.

This is my first elective geography lesson and i think that having to refer to the powerpoint slides all the time is rather boring. It would be less boring if we have to copy notes? : )
